Slight Detour

So here I am writing two or three posts a day since being in India and then all of a sudden no posts for four days. So what happened? Well, on thursday I woke up feeling really crappy and as the day progressed I kept feeling worse. So early afternoon my parents took me to the emergency room at Fortis Hospital. I ended up getting admitted for a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. Fortis is the best private hospital here and they are taking good care of me.

Today I am feeling much better and expect to be discharged monday our tuesday. When I get out I will post me side trip experience.

  1. Sorry to read about your URTI. Get well soon. URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection) is common here, but it does not require any hospitalisation. Vaporisation and anti-histamine tablets at the starting stage can avoid hospital visits.
Sorry, I am not a medical expert to say this. But myself being an intermittent sufferer of URTI, some common advice, which may help during your India tour. In India, doctors advise not to take chilled liquids in hot weather to avoid URTI.
Hope you will write about your hospital experiences too.

  2. Hi Kumar,

Thanks for all of your comments. Unfortunately it was much more complicated than an URTI though that was part of it. It's nice to know that India has outstanding health care, the people there at Fortis sure did a good job taking care of me.
